Story of The Greenhouse

My name is Jess Hidden, and I want to share how The Greenhouse came about—and why it’s an incredible opportunity for you to pour into the next generation.

In 2019, I had a radical encounter with God where He called me into full-time ministry to see revival in my generation. From that moment, I ran after this calling wholeheartedly. I began having dreams and visions of what it would look like—revival nights marked by prayer, deliverance, prophetic ministry, and young adults on fire for God.

I also had a recurring vision of a house with an open floor plan and different rooms, each with a purpose. One room was a library where young adults studied Scripture and wrote sermons. Another had a map where they prayed over nations and missions. There was a podcast studio for sharing encouragement, and a room with a whiteboard where business-minded young adults built God-centered businesses. In the center was a gathering space where they worshiped, prayed, were discipled, and were marked by God. I began to believe God would start a nonprofit through me—a house of revival that would equip young adults to lead others into powerful encounters with Him.

But as I pursued this calling, God began a revival in me first.

Four years in, life hit hard. I grew weary and exhausted, yet the fear of missing my calling kept me striving. The Lord revealed that I was serving the purpose He gave me, not Him. I learned that what you idolize becomes the god you trust—and purpose is a poor god. It doesn’t care for your soul, leaving no room for rest—only striving, often disguised as zeal. I realized my zeal had been for the call, not for Jesus, and it couldn’t sustain me.

In that season, Jesus called me off the path of purpose into a deeper relationship with Him. I had to choose: keep striving in purpose or be with Him. I surrendered my plans and met Jesus not just as the One who calls, but as a friend. He shifted my focus from ministry to my heart, bringing freedom and healing.

He unraveled my fear, freed me from performance and religion, and met me in my disappointment. For the first time, I could be fully myself before Him. Since then, He has been restoring the beauty of the simple gospel: that He is enough. True life is found in Him, not in what we do for Him.

Now, my desire is for others to experience the fullness of what Jesus paid for—the invitation to walk with God.

Over the past few years, while serving in full-time young adult ministry in Atlanta, I’ve had the privilege of walking with other young leaders as they experience this same kind of revival in their own lives. It begins with what God has done in me, and I’ve seen how it ignites a fire in others. That’s where our statement comes from: REVIVAL STARTS WITH US.

This is why The Greenhouse exists, and I would love for you to partner with us by giving financially to help sponsor young adult leaders to be part of this house, provide the resources needed for holistic discipleship, and create spaces where ministry can take place for other young adults to experience the same marking presence of God.

My Story

Hi, I’m Jess! I’m passionate about helping this generation encounter God’s radical love and equipping them to walk in all He has called them to do.

Back in 2019, the Lord called me into full-time ministry. At the time, I didn’t know what that would fully look like, but I knew I wanted to see revival in my generation. I attended Southeastern University, where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Practical Ministry.

After that, I joined the staff at Victory Church in Atlanta, GA, working with the young adult ministry. There, I’ve had the honor of developing leaders and volunteers, discipling women, and preaching the Gospel.

Now, I’ve stepped into a God-given dream by launching The Greenhouse, where I get to partner with other young adult ministries and leaders to build community and create spaces for people to encounter God.

A few fun facts about me: I love all sports! I grew up playing multiple sports and even went to college to play volleyball at SEU before stepping into full-time ministry. Another fun fact is that my mom is from Zimbabwe, so I grew up traveling there and experiencing incredible things—like riding elephants and feeding giraffes. Lastly, I love London Fogs with oat milk and vanilla—they’re superior to coffee in every way! Tea time is my favorite time… maybe it’s the British roots in me.
